Christian Louboutin, born in 1963 in Paris, France, has been interested in women's fashion from a young age. His passion for shoe design, influenced by his three sisters, first became apparent during high school where he spent most of his spare time sketching shoes.

As a result, he was expelled from four schools, but this certainly didn't negatively affect his chosen career path. Following school, he travelled around the world to Egypt and India, and received informal design training. These experiences became the major influence and foundation of Louboutin's elaborate and unique designs.

In the 1980's Christian Louboutin trained with Charles Jourdan and freelance designed for well known designers including Chanel, Yves St Laurent and Maud Frizon.
